Was ist das Neurotypisierungssystem?

The Neurotype System is an approach used to identify the neurological profile of individuals through a comprehensive questionnaire that covers many neurological but also psychological factors. This system has been developed by Christian Thibaudeau, world-renowned strength and conditioning coach who has worked with athletes from everywhere in a total of 28 different sports. The test has been created in the collaboration of his father, Pierre Thibaudeau, M.Ps., Ph.D., (psychology).

In Christian Thibaudeau’s opinion, neural optimization supersedes hormonal optimization because the neural response affects the hormonal response. This is essentially the founding principle and inspiration behind Christian’s Neurotyping system.

In a nutshell: „neurotyping“ refers to utilizing a person’s personality traits to evaluate his/her neurotransmitter dominance and utilize that information to select the best type of training and diet to maximize his/her training results. The Neurotyping System and the neurotype test is based on 5 typical neurological profiles. Mostly used in the context of sports performance, the Neurotype System is the athlete’s and the coach’s ultimate tool to effectively individualize training methods. It allows the coaches to understand the athlete’s brain dominance and thus know what kind of training will be best suited to optimize results.

Working with the neurotype profiles helps maximize the output of each gym session, make sure you recover to the fullest and provide key guidelines for nutritional and lifestyle choices.

Note that the Neurotyping System can be used to better performance in the context of different types of activities or even areas of interest/concerns, such as work and career management, personal relationships, stress management, etc.

The Neurotyping system is not only a coaching system. It’s a tool to better understand human being.

IF YOU ARE A COACH/TRAINER

Stand out from the crowd and help bring your clients to their best self ever.

Not only your knowledge in neurotyping will bring your coaching skills to the next level, but you will guide your clients through decisions regarding training, nutrition, and supplementation based on their specific neurotype profile.

Just as an example: which athlete is better suited for a high amount of training volume or higher frequency? Who needs more variation and which type of exercises should the coach focus on? Can an athlete do a lot of exercises in a workout or should he/she stick to a lower number of movements? These are all things that the neurotyping system helps the coaches solve.

The training world is competitive. If you are a coach training people in person or online, the greatest challenge is offering something different to your clients. Something that separates yourself from the other trainers out there. The Neurotyping system will give that extra edge that will separate you from the pack without compromising your integrity as a trainer.

This is probably your best tool and a solid strategy to help your athletes reach their goals quickly.

IF YOU ARE AN ATHLETE

Knowing your neurotype allows you to optimize your decisions regarding training, nutrition, and supplementation.

The Neurotype System was created to help you dig deeper and understand your motivations, triggers, and shortcoming by exploring your neurotype profile.

After having passed the neurotype test, consult with your coach to learn more about how your profile should dictate your training and perhaps your diet.

EXAMPLE: THE NEUROTYPE PROFILE 1A (TYPE 1A)

  • In the gym, they are built for strength, not acceleration. Explosive training will slow their recovery.
  • Type 1A generally responds very well to lifting heavy since they handle intensity well.
  • They want to feel the overload at every point of the strength curve during a lift: it makes them feel powerful. This makes them the „grinder“ type of lifters.
  • The type 1A athletes generally don’t need a lot of variations so the same lifts can be used often. Nutrition: The type 1As need foods that will provide them with the building blocks for dopamine and acetylcholine while maintaining their natural serotonin levels in balance.
  • They generally need a carb-rich diet and to pack up on lots of proteins, such as red meat and any type of wild meat.

TESTIMONIES

The concept of Neurotyping has changed the way I train and the way that I program for my clients.

Mike Millner
Strength Coach / 500+ athletes

Coach Millner further mentioned: „When I read Coach Thibs’ articles on neurotypes and the application to training, it immediately resonated with me. I’m a Type 2A, someone who is good at reading people, and I’ve been training clients for years. The idea that our psychological and physiological make-up (i.e. neurotransmitter dominance and brain chemistry) has an impact on the type of training we enjoy made so much sense.

It explains why a cookie-cutter approach to every client will never work. Neurotyping takes what we see and know as trainers, packages it in science, and gives us a platform for building training programs that are truly optimal for ourselves and for our clients.

Personally, I made more progress training based on my Neurotype over the last 18 months than I had in the previous 5 years combined.“

Neurotype System is an incredible tool I have been dreaming of all my life long and not only from a muscle-body composition point of view.
